iTeleport: Jaadu VNC for iPhone / iPad (iTeleport LLC $24.99) Universal App
![]()

Most of the apps I have are utilitarian. My iDevices are really for utility purpose and then for entertainment when I have nothing else to do. So the majority of apps that I like, are mostly more of geeky type apps for getting things done. iTeleport is one of those apps. They have gone through several names for this app in the past including Jaadu VNC. As a universal app, I can use it from either my iPhone or iPad. The app functions identical between the two devices, the only difference is of course the screen size which can be a big deal when it comes to using a remote desktop app.
In my opinion, this app is by far the best Remote Desktop app in the app store. I know it is a bit pricey, but it has been worth every penny for me. It really comes down to what you use it for. In my home I have many machines connected to big screen TVs and I use computers instead of just standard cable. None of these machines have anything but a TV connected including no mouse or keyboard. So using them remotely is essentially when something needs to be done. With this app I have found that from anywhere in the world I can get done what I need to do. If something is wrong with my DVR server when I am gone, I can easily connect to it, restart it or do any number of other things. I am also the kind of guy that everyone calls to fix their computer, and what better way than to do it right from your iPad. The beauty of it is that I can do anything I need to, right from my iPad.
The makers of this app also include (from their website) server software that you can install on any windoze or mac machine which allows you easy setup with the app including connecting over the Internet through your router without doing any additional setup. This companion server is free and works GREAT with iTeleport. Additionally they will walk you through, step by step instructions on how to set everything up, right on their website.
FEATURES:
- Easily view the entire desktop of the remote machine, if your remote machine has multiple desktops (using multiple monitors) you will see all of them.
- Media controls – There is a set of media control buttons available that will do things such as pause, play, fast forward, rewind, volume up, volume down. This is especially convenient if you are using your machine as a media center.
- Multitasking is available, after connecting to a remote machine, you can leave the app and then come back (within a short period of time) and find the connection still open. This is particularly useful for retrieving information and then coming back in and continuing with a task.
- Will connect to any machine with a VNC server.
- Install the Jaadu companion server and you will gain the ability to remotely connect from anywhere in the world just using your credentials.
- You can chose various styles for usage including controls only or no controls.
- Multiple options are available for Encoding and various options for security.
- Multiple options for control of mouse (or lack thereof).
- Quick keys for some of the most common keys pressed depending on the type of machine (Windoze or Mac).
The only thing I would change about this app if I could is the fact that although it takes a gmail account to setup the remote connection, the Google Apps accounts (which have your own custom domain) do not work. Your email address must be @gmail.com. Other than that, this is a very good, very functioning app.
THIS IS NO LONGER THE CASE — THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED!
As you can see I have nothing bad to say about this app. I really like it and I use it frequently. There are very few things that I do not like about this app probably a combination of the fact that I am use to how to use it and they have improved it greatly over time! If you are the type that finds yourself consistently having to fix other people’s computers, or constantly getting calls asking how to do things remotely from the same certain people, this is a great way to remotely connect and assist that user!

Hello,
Thanks for the positive review. I’m one of the two developers behind iTeleport, and it’s really heartwarming to us to get such an incredible review
I just wanted to point out that in the most recent update, we’ve added support for Google App domains — so the only negative point in your review has been addressed
Let us know if you have any other feedback — we’re always looking for ways to make the app even better than it is.

Thank you for your comments Jahanzeb! I have updated the post accordingly. This is one of the many reasons I love your app is that you are very attentive to the needs of the users and you make sure things get done! Thanks for putting out such a great app, I really do get a lot of use out of it. I bought it back when it was first released in 2008 I believe and I have been sold on it ever since!
