UPDATED Review: WordPress (Universal App)

WordPress (Automattic FREE) Universal App

*UPDATE*

WordPress has recently updated this app a few times, bringing a few new features but mostly fixing a lot of the problems this app use to have. There are now less crashes and less problems in general, and fewer issues of the app mangling my posts. I am now upgrading this app from a 2 star to a 3 star because they have definitely improved the app. At this point it is much less of a headache, they’ve add in a few things like the resizing of photos can be a specific size if you always use that size and adding images puts them at the top of the list instead of the bottom. The app still is not perfect, infact my update that I tried to post to this post from the app failed.

Review: iSSH (Universal App)

iSSH – SSH / VNC Console (Zinger-Soft $9.99) Universal App

Yet another remote access app that is very handy to have if you do any sort of tech work. If you work with servers or any sort of a machine that you may need to connect to on the go, then this is definitely the app for you. The iPhone and iPad versions are almost identical aside from the screen size. For that reason I mostly use it on my iPad (when I can). But if I am out somewhere and an emergency occurs, I will always be able to tackle the issue even from my iPhone.

This app works just like any SSH client would be expected to work and also includes the ability to VNC (although I personally prefer to use the iTeleport app for VNC, the implementation is a lot better done as far as VNC is concerned). In conjunction with the iPhone/iPad built in IPSec VPN, I am able to do work on any of my servers securely and safely on the go. With a nice big screen, and essentially what equates to a full size keyboard, the iPad allows this app to function easily and allows you to complete virtually any task. I can’t explain it any further without getting into the features so I’ll just get right into those now.

*MY* Top 10 iPad Apps

14 Nov

Although there are many iPad apps that I really like and that will vary from category to category, there are several apps that I use on a very consistent basis (practically every hour of the waking day).  These are the apps that I like the most and get the most use out of.  For the sake of this post I will not be including any native apps in this top 10 list.  Obviously I use quite frequently apps like the Calendar app and the iPod app as well as apps like YouTube and Maps.  But the purpose of this list is to give you an idea of the App Store apps that I feel bring me the most value.  I will give you a short description of each and then later link to a full review of each app.  Every app that I list and/or review is an app that I have purchased.

Here they are listed in order of how much I use them, 1 being the most:
